We found out Lily won't be eligible for Alternative Kindergarten next year - her 5th birthday is 11 days after the cutoff date. That answers that question! We thought about preschool, but she gets a lot of phonics work and learning at daycare, plus we'd have to pay for both preschool and daycare since we both work full time. Lily is "top of the heap" at daycare now, being the oldest one there full time. She is officially "Michelle's Helper", and she loves it there. We've decided on 1 more year of daycare, then regular kindergarten just before she turns 6. Aaron didn't go to preschool and he didn't have any problems with kindergarten or school, so we're hoping for the best.
p.s. NO SLEEP for us this morning, I should have known better. I tried, but just ended up being grumpy. The birthday party for Great Grandpa Val was fun, with lots of relatives, some from Ohio and Council Bluffs. It's great to see everyone who lives far away. The kids held up, but were ready to leave when it got dark. Early to bed for all of us for sure.
